Description:
The Waushara County Department of Aging Services provides a variety of programs and services to individuals age 60 or older, and to caregivers of any age caring for a person age 60 or older. The purpose of Waushara County Department of Aging Services is to provide a variety of essential services now and in the future which enhance and maintain quality of life for older persons. Operating under the federal Older Americans Act, participants are given the opportunity to make a donation towards the cost of programs and services, but are not charged a fee.
Programs include nutrition (Dining Centers, Home Delivered Meals, Ensure, and Senior Farmer's Market), transportation, benefit specialist, information and assistance, and the family caregiver program. Short-term, in-home support services such as personal care, homemaker, and chore services may be available to those struggling with activities of daily living. Preventative health services, including the Friendly Visitor program, Senior Home Repair Program, medication management and Falls Prevention are coordinated through the department. A variety of opportunities for older adults to be involved with the community are made available through the volunteer program.
