Description:
Administers funded programs to help eligible frail elderly persons remain in the community. These include: COP, COP Waiver, respite and homemaker services. Case management is provided for individuals receiving services through the department.
Provides financial aid to residents of Ozaukee county including food stamps (to eligible adults who are blind, disabled, or elderly), medical assistance (to financially eligible elderly, blind or disabled individuals, including those residing in nursing homes,), energy assistance (on seasonal basis to low-income households).
Mental Health services provided by the Counseling Center include crisis intervention, evaluation, outpatient treatment, assistance with referrals to inpatient or other treatment programs. We also provide the same services to clients with alcohol/drug problems. The Community Support program works with clients who have severe mental illness.
Adult Protective Services: offers assistance with physical or financial abuse. Also aids individual who is confused making medical or other decisions affecting their welfare. Identities of those reporting are kept confidential. NOTE: after hours please call your local law enforcement agency.
Chemical Dependency services include crisis intervention, assessment, outpatient treatment, and assistance with referrals to inpatient treatment when necessary.
