Description:
The Protective Services Law, insures that the elderly, developmentally disabled, and persons with similar incapacities are offered protection, when needed, from abuse, exploitation and degrading treatment. All individuals who need protection are eligible for protective services. Voluntary tracking and follow-up, coordination of services and case management are available. Involuntary services consist of those services necessary to evaluate individuals to determine the degree of competency in a legal sense, to assist in guardianships and /or protective placement proceedings, to safeguard the individual's civil rights in such proceedings of indigent adults, and to insure availability of the least restrictive services.
