Over the years, the capabilities have expanded so Beloit Meals on Wheels is able to provide renal failure diets to assist our clients on dialysis, in addition to a number of therapeutic diets including:

*Low salt/ NAS (No Added Salt)

*Low fat

*Low cholesterol

*Diabetic

Provided are a variety of textures, ground and pureed menu items, so those with difficulty chewing and swallowing can receive appropriate nutrition to remain in their homes. Every effort is made to please the palates of our clients by noting specific likes and dislikes.

Eligibility for Meals On Wheels:

Meals on Wheels focuses on caring for individuals whose diminished mobility makes it hard to shop for food, prepare meals or socialize with others. Our program serves those Beloit area seniors, 60 years and older, that are homebound and not driving, with those that are elderly and frail taking priority in our program. Limited funding is also available for adults with disabilities.

To Begin Service:

Beginning meal service to your home is as easy as placing a phone call to the Meals On Wheels office at (608) 362-3683. We will obtain the information needed, and make arrangements for delivery. Referrals also may be made by your physician or home nursing service, or by your hospital as discharge plans are made. Service will begin as soon as possible.

Volunteer opportunities:
Using your own vehicle, you will find that delivery will take from one hour to an hour and a half of your time. Training is provided, and every effort is made to accommodate your schedule. “On call” drivers are also needed to fill in for vacations and occasional vacancies as they arise.
