St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) provides its members with opportunities to participate in multiple volunteer services directed to the poor, with a unique focus on one-to-one personal services through home visitation, aid, info/referral services, support, and problem-solving. Volunteers serve meals, and offer social support at two meal programs, contribute to strengthening families and preventing child abuse at the Vincent Family Resource Center; and are active in philanthropic and leadership activities. SVDP is dedicated to the support of, and involvement in community service.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society also provides emergency food, clothing, furniture and appliances to needy residents of Milwaukee County. Also provides emergency (disconnect notice) assistance with gas/electric and oil bills.

The Milwaukee council of SVDP operates a free Meal Program at two sites, five nights per week on the north side, at 2600 N 2nd St, and six nights per week on the south side, at 931 W. Madison Street.
Guests at the Meal Program can also access hot showers and clean clothing, and a bike repair program at the south side. At both sites, guests can obtain warm winter outerwear, join the fun of various social activities, and use the on-site children’s libraries.
