Beginning in October of 2013, non-medical trips area also provided so long as they can be coordinated with a medical trip. Co-payments for the volunteer driver program vary depending upon where the passenger is picked up and dropped off. The cost is calculated from city to city at $.25/mile.
When scheduling transportation, individuals must inform the dispatcher of all stops to be made, and if the passenger uses a wheelchair, walker, cane, or oxygen. Individuals on Medical Assistance (MA), Family Care or IRIS must also inform the dispatcher that they are on these programs. If an individual is eligible to receive rides through the statewide Medication Assistance transportation manager, they will be referred to MTM for medical trips.
