Description:
The Medicaid Personal Care Program empowers people with disabilities to manage their personal care services. Options for Independent Living offers a consumer directed Personal Care Program for people with disabilities who are: Medicaid beneficiaries, require personal care services and have identified an individual to provide personal care. Personal care may include assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility in the home, eating, and medically orientated tasks in the home. The consumer must agree to responsibly use personal care services and have back-up support available as needed. Options does not provide emergency or back-up personal care services. The RN visits the consumer and the personal care worker every 50 to 60 days to review the plan of care, observe a personal care being performed and discuss any changes.
