Description:
Will accept any domestic animal. Provides surrender, adoption, rescue and ambulance service for domestic animals. Directs inquiries about stray animals, and accepts reports of lost animals. If an animal is found or brought in to the Shelter, the owner will be informed, but owners who have lost a pet are ultimately responsible to check the Shelter and Shelter website routinely.
Adoption fees includes spay or neuter for dogs, cats & rabbits. Worming, distemper vaccine, Bordetella vaccine (for dogs), rabies vaccine (if over 5 months), micro-chip and flea preventive treatment are administered by the Humane Society. Dogs receive a CVI (certificate of veterinary inspection).
The Humane Society also performs the following services:
*QUARANTINE for bite cases, as ordered by the Health Department
*HUMANE EDUCATION: Provides free informational literature and speakers on animal welfare topics, for schools or group meetings. Also offers shelter tours for school groups or organizations at no charge. Call the shelter for appointment.
*PET CARE COUNSELING: Offers help with animal problems;
*SENIORS FOR SENIORS: Pets 7 years and over are 1/2 regular adoption fee for people 65+.
