Description:
Information and referral, consultations, advocacy and training. Will come to job sites, hospitals, schools etc. to educate about deaf culture and working with people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Direct services include: Telecommunications Assistance Program (TAP) for income eligible deaf or hard of hearing individuals, funds the $100 copay for the Telecommunictions Equipment Purchase Program (TEPP) which provides funds to purchase special telephone equipment. Can also assist consumers in applying for TEPP which is administered by the Public Service Commission. Wisconsin Interpreting/ Transliterating Assessment (WITA) for sign language interpreters. AODA resource for deaf or hard of hearing individuals. No fees. Must be a resident of Wisconsin. Written application required for some programs.
