Description:
The Register of Probate provide circuit courts, attorneys and members of the general public with courteous, professional and proficient services that facilitate proceedings for the administration of decedent’s estates, testamentary trusts, guardianships, protective placements, civil and juvenile mental health commitments and, other related proceedings within the Circuit Courts and/or Register in Probate Office.
The Clerk of Circuit Court/Register in Probate staff assigned to the Probate Division, maintains a record, in full, of all Wills/Codicils admitted to probate and those filed for safekeeping, reviews and approves professional service vouchers, makes court docket entries, processes appeals to the 1st District of Wisconsin Court of Appeals and, collects statutorily required fees. The Clerk of Circuit Court/Register in Probate prepares and maintains court records through the Consolidated Court Automation Program (CCAP) and maintains court files for all probate matters.
