Programs
- Connections Count Program: works with families in Manitowoc County who are expecting and/or caring for at least one child under the age of 5. This 20-week program is designed to work with families by helping them find the community resources, services, supports and opportunities.
- Elderly / Disabled / Low-Income Rental: an apartment building in the village of Reedsville. Our Park Estates complex offers fifteen spacious one-bedroom apartments (depending upon availability) for those who qualify as elderly, disabled and/or low-income.
- GED/HSED Program helps with tuition, books and fees
- Home Buyer and Financial Assistance Program is designed to help income-eligible households with the purchase of homes. The property must be a single family, owner-occupied home.
- Parents as Teachers (PAT) Home Visiting Program at Lakeshore CAP offers family-focused services to expectant mothers/parents and families with new babies in Manitowoc County. Children who have nurturing, healthy and supportive experiences in their early years are much better prepared to succeed in school and life. Parent Educators work around your schedule.
- Respite providers give a break or relief from caregiving responsibilities to a child’s or youth’s normal caregiver. Respite is part-time care, typically 1 weekend per month, for foster children so their foster parents can have time away.
- Lakeshore CAP’s Skills Enhancement Program for County residents helps Identify needs and goals in all areas of your life, develop individual and confidential training plans, provide technical assistance with job skills activities and connection to other resources and support.
- Homelessness Prevention/ Rental Assistance Programs
Helping the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless maintain housing and work towards self-sufficiency.
- The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) at Lakeshore CAP is one of 16 Emergency Feeding Organizations (EFO) in WI, and administers distribution of TEFAP commodities from the USDA to food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
- The Community Response Program (CRP) at Lakeshore CAP works with families who need a little extra support in caring for their children. The overall goal is to strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and reduce re-referrals to Child Protective Services.
