Senior centers provide older adults with an opportunity to socialize with others, participate in recreational activities, and learn new ideas through educational programming. There are no membership fees to belong to the center. Programs are diverse and may include line-dancing, woodworking, arts and crafts, stamp collecting, camera club, bible study, billiards, music classes, billiards, exercise classes, computer classes, travel clubs, cards, lapidary, sewing, etc. The center offers a Senior Fitness Program. Participants will get an assessment of their current fitness level, orientation and advice on setting up an exercise routine in order to maintain or improve strength, flexibility, and general fitness. The facility has up-to-date exercise equipment that are designed for the needs of older adults. The Senior Meal Program provides a daily hot lunch and other activities. Lunches are fully balanced meals, including entrée, sides, dessert and beverage. Low-fat and chocolate milk and low-carb desserts are available. Volunteers help serve meals and also reach out to other older adults. Program staff provide information, outreach and referral information about other community services. NOTE: Reservations must be made between 9:30 – 11:00am the day prior to dining. There is a suggested contribution of $3 for diners 60 and over and a cost of $8 for their guests under 60.
