Description:
In 2019, the food shelf served 773 families that included 1601 people from newborn to senior citizen age distributing 98,906 lbs of food. These numbers do not include the many people that come to the food shelf each week for bread, bakery, vegetables, clothing, furniture, and other needs.
We also have a Backpack program for children on free and reduced lunch. Each week a backpack goes home with 7 items of food and a milk coupon. Once a month each family receives a veggie coupon for $10 worth of fresh or frozen vegetables and a coupon for a pound of ground meat. This program runs from October-May in coordination with the school district. We average 36-42 backpacks per week.
In 2019, we helped 74 children with school supplies which encompassed everything on their school lists including graphing calculators.
More than 420 people were able to find clothing, winter coats, household, bedding, and furniture needs.
The Open Cupboard hours are Monday and Wednesday from 9-12 and Thursday 11-4. We encourage anyone who would like to see our facility to stop in during open hours and we will be happy to give you an overview of our programs.
