Description:
Dental care in the general clinic is provided by pre-doctoral students under the supervision of licensed faculty dentists and dental hygienist. Prospective patients are required to have a screening appointment to determine if their needs are suitable for treatment by a dental student. To get on the Screening Appointment List, prospective patients must call to be put on the list for a screening appointment.
Once an opening becomes available, a registration attendant will call the patient back to schedule an appointment. The patient's name will remain on the list until an appointment is scheduled, or two attempts have been made to schedule a time. Upon the first appointment, a screening examination will determine the dental needs and whether the clinic will be able to provide dental services. If the clinic accepts the patient, the clinic will schedule any necessary x-rays and will then assign a student dentist who will do a complete dental examination and work out a specific treatment plan that best suits the needs of the patient. The best time to call is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
